The TTR tester uses a programmable signal source technology. Therefore, the transformer turns ratio and wiring method can be measured in one minute.
The transformer turns ratio test, or TTR test, confirms that the transformer has the correct ratio of primary turns to secondary turns. Using this test correctly can help to identify tap changer performance, shorted turns, open windings, incorrect winding connections and other faults inside transformers.
The Transformer Turns Ratio tester (TTR) is device used to measure the turns ratio between the windings (example shown below). Voltage is applied on the H marked leads and measured of the X marked lead by the test set. Ratio measurements are conducted on all tap positions and calculated by dividing the induced voltage reading into the applied voltage value.

- With tapping test function: TTR and TTR error in the position of each tapping switch can be gauged quickly. Just input rated TTR once, instead of inputing over and over again, TTR error in tapping position can be calculated
